50% of the highly skilled EU workers to quit the UK in 5 years

It was found by Deloitte the consultancy firm that around 50% of the highly skilled EU workers will exit from the UK in the forthcoming period of five years. The report released by Deloitte has warned of drastic results for the firms in the UK and has also increased the pressure on the UK government to formulate rational policies for immigration, as quoted by The Guardian.

The Deloitte research is in further concurrence with other evidence that the Brexit vote is influencing highly skilled EU workers to exit from the UK or to plan to do so. The reasons for this include the UK economy being overshadowed by the ambiguity of the post-Brexit scenario and fall in the pound that is decreasing the worth of their salaries affecting the remittances that have to be made to their homes in Euros.

The pound fell steeply after the Brexit referendum and continues to be valued 13% lesser than the Euro as against the day of the referendum.

Around 2, 242 workers from the EU and overseas were surveyed by Deloitte with half of them residing overseas and half of them in the UK for assessing their opinion on the appeal of the UK and whether they would continue to live in the UK or exit from the nation.

The effect of the Brexit referendum was the strongest on the UK’s highly skilled EU workers as whopping 65% described the UK as losing appeal for immigrant workers.
