Angola to grant 61 countries’ nationals visas on arrival

Citizens of 61 countries arriving in Angola will be issued visas on arrival, Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA) said on 27 February.

RNA said the visitors will be granted 30-day Viză de turist in Luanda, the capital of Angola, after they submit details of their accommodation and proof of having enough money.

Also required to travel to the Southern African country will be a return ticket, a valid passport and an international certificate of vaccination, said The East African.

The countries named by RNA, which will be issued visas on arrival, are 28 countries in the Schengen area, the Portuguese-speaking nations, Algeria, Botswana, Lesotho,  Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Morocco, Namibia, Seychelles, Swaziland, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe, Northern Ireland, Russia, South American nations such as Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Venezuela, Canada, Cuba, the US, the UAE, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, besides Australia, Timor-Leste and New Zealand.

According to RNA, the presidential decree will be effective from 30 March.

Earlier, an invitation letter, which was required for visa application, was discouraging many tourists who wanted to Călătorie în Angola.

It was stated that the government of Angola was hoping to create one million jobs by 2020 in its tourism sector.
