Was Brexit all about controlling Overseas Immigration?

It is often said that people who voted for Brexit didn’t know what was at stake. Their decision is criticized by many, saying they didn’t understand the importance of staying in EU. Brexiteers explained that racism was one of the main reasons why they left EU. However, more than often Overseas Immigration is believed to be the cause of Brexit.

People speculated that Britain had a fetish for tighter border controls. They tried to restrict Overseas Immigration. It is not entirely denied by Brexiteers. They said it has been a huge factor. The British people never voted for EU free movement. They always wanted it to end.
