Noua Zeelandă plănuiește o nouă abordare pentru vizele de muncă EA

The Government of New Zealand is planning to adopt a changed approach for EA Work Visas (Employer Assisted Visas). These are issued for a specific employer. It also plans to improve the tests for the labor market. This is to ensure that immigrant workers are hired only for real shortages.

The new approach also aims to improve the ties between immigration, welfare systems, and skills/education. The employers in New Zealand will also be expected to enhance training and support for the employees.

The recent Cabinet meeting of the Government outlined diverse measures for achieving the above objectives. It also accepted that the expertise and skills of the overseas workers will always remain important for New Zealand.

The Government said that it will be ensured that businesses obtain the skilled immigrants that they require. The existing Government even has an agreement for a coalition between the New Zealand First and New Zealand Labour Party. It commits the Government to ensure that EA Work Visas reflect actual shortages of skills.  Also, it obligates taking stern action against the exploitation of immigrants, as quoted by the MBIE Govt NZ.

New Zealand Post-Study Work Visas have already been made stringent by the Government. This is to ensure that the overseas students do not arrive at the nation to be employed in low-skilled jobs. It has also launched a specific list for skills shortages for supporting growth in construction and infrastructure.

The lists of skills shortages are also being planned to be made more focused regionally. This is to ensure that immigrants are employed in places that have actual skills shortages. It is also to guarantee that diverse circumstances and needs of the regions are taken into consideration.

The meeting of the Cabinet also observed that piecemeal improvements are not adequate to implement the improvements that were discussed. The entire system needs to be reshaped for achieving the goals, it added.
