Noua Zeelandă relaxează regulile pentru viza de parteneriat

There is good news for New Zealanders wishing to apply for temporary visas for their partners born overseas. The immigration department announced changes recently which were in effect reversal on decisions taken by the immigration department on partnership visas.

In May this year, the government decided to decline partner visa applications from immigrants unless they could prove that they were living together for at least a year. Due to this rule, immigrants who had a culturally arranged marriage of less than one year were at a disadvantage. Their partnership visa application was rejected.

The changes will now allow immigrants to arrange for family visits which will include partners they had met or married outside New Zealand but have not lived together to be eligible for a partnership visa. Under the changed regulations, immigrants who have had an arranged marriage can bring their spouses on a visit visa after adhering to mandatory processes.

The visa will be granted to only those who have had a legitimate arranged marriage. They should have the necessary legal proof. Once the partner has lived in New Zealand with his/her spouse, they can apply for a partnership visa with documents that prove the legitimacy of their marriage.

With this change, the immigration department will reconsider around 1200 visa applications it had rejected in May. The cases will be reassessed, and applicants can expect positive visa decisions.
