Acum, rezidenții din 12 țări terțe pot merge în Spania

From July 4, 2020, legal residents of 12 third-countries – Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Tunisia, Thailand, Uruguay, Rwanda, Serbia, Georgia, and Montenegro – can enter Spain for short-term purposes, provided that they hold the required visa for the same.

This has been done in accordance with the recommendation of the EU Council.

As per a Press Release by the Spanish Prime Minister’s Office, the government of Spain had decided to “gradually lift restrictions on passenger access across Spain’s external borders” to residents from a total of 15 non-EU countries – including China, Morocco, and Algeria –  as per the recommendation of the EU Council.

However, Spain has noted that their borders will reopen for the residents of China, Morocco, and Algeria on the basis of reciprocity, that is, if these 3 countries reopen their borders to residents of Spain.

The relaxation of entry restrictions is also applicable to residents of other third-countries that might have to enter Spain for essential purposes. These include –

Muncitori transfrontalieri

Specialiști în sănătate

Sailors, transport and aeronautical personnel

Diplomatic, consular, military, civil protection and members of humanitarian organizations, etc. [in the exercise of their function]

Students studying in the Member States or associated with the Schengen States [provided they have the corresponding visa or permit]

Highly qualified workers whose work is necessary and can neither be carried out remotely nor postponed.

Individuals travelling for family reasons

Those who have proof of being impacted by force majeure or being in a situation of need, and whose entry can be allowed for humanitarian reasons

The new rules on entry restrictions into Spain will remain in place until July 31, 2020.
