At the other end of the spectrum, nations in South and Central America are attracting the least numbers of immigrants. Just 1.2% of the population in Central America is overseas-born. El Salvador and Nicaragua have just .07% of the population as immigrants.

In South America, a mere 1.7% of the population is born overseas outside the continent.
