President Obama Invites Immigrants to Become Citizens of USA!

President Barrack Obama is making an attempt to make the United States of America, stronger than it already is. To make this a possibility, the President has launched a multi lingual campaign that encourages permanent residents with eligibility to apply for the citizenship of the United States. Talking about the campaign, the President urged people also to encourage their eligible friends for the same. He believes that it will be beneficial both to the permanent resident and also to the country on the whole. The White House reports that, presently there are as many as 13.3 million permanent residents but not more than 8.8 million of them are eligible to apply for citizenship of the United States. The campaign is aimed at encouraging every permanent resident to become closer to the USA. The Citizenship Campaign The campaign is named “‘Stand Stronger’ Citizenship Awareness Campaign” and it started on Thursday to add 36,000 new citizens to the country that will make it stronger on the global platform. In the same context U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services is attempting to extend its services to the rural areas also, in order to increase the number of applicants. Another attempt to achieve the same result, is the permission make use of credit cards to pay the fees of naturalization. Coming to the multi lingual aspect of the unique campaign, the country’s government headed by Mr Obama has decided to expand its usage of languages. So from now on the USCIS, instead of restricting itself to Spanish, Chinese, and Vietnamese, will also make itself available in Korean and Tagalog. Celebrities Support It To give an added boost to the campaign regarding citizenship, President Obama has also appointed brand ambassadors to endorse this cause. The celebrities in this list are chef José Andrés, actress Diane Guerrero, singer Dave Matthews, and former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Fernando Valenzuela. In order to make sure that no stone is left unturned, there are multiple other campaigns being held. These include welcoming to immigrants, partnership with municipalities to push citizenship, and placing AmeriCorps members with non-profits aiding immigrants, and offering free legal services to low-income immigrants.
